The pattern was fairly easy to follow, being straightforward and using basic stitches, and it just required a little bit of sewing to attach wings, feet, etc.

The book with this pattern has lots of adorable patterns, and is highly recommended for anyone looking to make cute plushies:

This pattern wasn’t too hard and it only took me 2-3 hours to make. (Admittedly, I was rushing to finish it in time for my sister’s birthday).

I got the pattern from one of my very favorite crochet books – Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More! – which I’d definitely recommend for anyone looking for some really unique, as well as high quality patterns!

The pattern was from Easy Crochet Critters, and they weren’t hard to follow.  I only deviated slightly, making button eyes instead of the black plastic eyes in the photo, I just like buttons.

And most importantly, my daughter loved it!  Now… time to decide what to do next!

I went for the super-cute this time and bought Easy Crochet Critters (the cheapest yet most adorable of the three in my opinion), Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet, and Amigurumi Two!: Crocheted Toys for Me and You and Baby Too (which both have some really unique crochet patterns including coffee cups and fruits).

At the request of Natasha, my 9-year old, I’m starting with the cute baby lion on the cover of Easy Crochet Critters, and I will let you know once it’s done!

My husband may even be getting into Amigurumi knitting too!  He bought a knitting book and supplies so we’ll see… that would be so cute for the two of us to be making our creations while watching TV. :)

Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More!

Welcome to the land of very cute crochet and knitting!

My name is Jennifer Hall and I first delved into the world of Amigurumi when I started making crocheted dolls for my daughter from the book Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More!  I enjoyed making them so much and was so happy to find that my daughter had made a bed for the vampiress I had made and was sleeping next to her at night that I decided this would be a very beneficial hobby for both of us!

I’ve always enjoyed crocheting but recently found myself with a bag of unfinished blankets that I wasn’t terribly excited about finishing.  I hadn’t really found the right colors and patterns, and probably didn’t have the time for them back when I left them unfinished.  Then I realized that there was a world of small, wonderful projects out there to be done!  Now I really love making all kinds of amigurumi from cute baby lions to cuddly vampires to experimental dolls.
